Have you spoken to God today? Is your spiritual life in danger?
Have you ever felt like God was so far away and out of reach? Sometimes he seems so distant, that we begin to feel alone and in return begin to fall away and grow cold. You are no longer focused on God and his will in your life and your mind is elsewhere, not necessarily on things of sinful nature...but wrapped up in daily life and stress. This is when Satan will squirm his way in and cause doubt, fear, unbelief, strife and chaos. Sometimes we have simply grown cold and weak. You can be overtaken by temptation at this point and Satan is waiting...idle hands are the devil's playground.
But He warned, "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love" (Revelation 2:4
).
You have to quickly make a choice to remember who you are in God...and to begin to put him first again. Slowly you will regain the closeness you once felt...the love you had for God in the beginning. If you dont move quickly, you will grow cold and fall away, putting your soul and relationship with God in danger. My Mom always put it this way....if my children woke up every morning and didn't speak to me or spend anytime with me, I would be hurt and feel unimportant in their daily lives. I think that must be how God feels when we ignore him for days at a time. We dont speak to him and the relationship grows cold. The Bible says, Revelation 3:16, So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Try to make a point each day to spend time with God in your own way, just make sure it includes praying and reading your Bible. Ask him for guidance in your life, and for a closer relationship with him. When God near to you, you will think of him often and focus on his will for your life. James 4:8 says, Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Talking to God each day is vital to reaching a more mature walk with him. Hebrews 5:14, But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. If you want to grow, seek God everyday for a closer walk with him, knowledge, and understanding. Nothing compares to feeling God's presence within your very being and facing every obstacle knowing he is right by your side.
